BE A TEAM LEADER
Spend one month this summer pouring into the lives of North American college students as they become the teacher of a conversation-based English camp in Asia. Mentor them as teachers, as a team, and personally.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
ELIC requires a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in any field of study.
Committed Christian
ELIC sends committed Christians.
Native English Speaker
In order to meet the requirements that China, Hong Kong and Vietnam have for English teachers, we may only send teachers who speak English as their first language. We select our team leaders, who may do substitute or guest teaching, in light of this requirement.
ELIC Alumnus
Previous experience both in Asia and with ELIC is an invaluable asset to a team. Alumni who have served with ELIC for at least one year will recieve first priority when assessing our team leader needs for this summer. Applicants who are multi-time alumni of the Camp or STP programs, and who have significant teaching and college leadership experience, will be considered.
Committed to Serve in a Team Environment
ELIC teachers serve in a team environment and must be committed to maintaining a positive and successful working relationship with their teammates. Team Leaders must also be at least 24 years old and exhibit a passion to mentor and serve college students.
As a Camp China team leader, you'll act as the official representative to the host institution that your team is assigned. While developing relationships with your team, you'll challenge them to academic and professional excellence and hold regular team studies to foster team building and personal growth.
It's your chance to mentor and supervise 8-10 diverse personalities - one great team.
Mentoring these North American college students through their 5-week summer journey will provide rewards that can't be put into words.
