As contradictory and challenging as it is charming, Lebanon sits at a crossroad in the world scene. One foot of this tiny Mediterranean nation stands in the Middle East and one foot is planted firmly in the West. Scarred by decades of civil war, yet blessed with a people who are resilient, indomitable, and renowned for their hospitality, Lebanon heroically allows victims of the Syrian crisis to cross their border to safety.
Currently 1.5 million Syrian refugees find refuge in Lebanon. They have seen their homes destroyed, lost loved ones, have friends or family imprisoned unjustly. Their spirit of despair is palpable. Yet this crisis is bringing good, as it brings truth to light. This large-scale humanitarian tragedy is our opportunity to display true and authentic love. Intercede for these who have lost so much and consider how you can be part of the answer.
If you’re ready to be a part of what’s happening in Lebanon, we have opportunities for college students through our Engage program and opportunities for everyone else through our University Teaching Program and Summer Teaching Program.
