Overview
Wheaton
College’s Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies
challenges students to develop their ability to
communicate cross-culturally. Through this program,
students learn how to craft a message in a way that is
relevant to other cultures. Furthermore, students are
equipped with strategies to engage in a dynamically
changing world.This program
can be completed through three intensive summer sessions
on Wheaton’s campus, two intensive mid-winter break
sessions, and eight units of distance learning classes
completed while teaching in the country of assignment.
Some individuals may be able to transfer credits from
previous coursework in place of taking distance classes.
Prerequisites
To
be considered for admission, students must hold a
bachelor’s degree with a minimum 2.75 grade-point
average on a 4.0 scale and must take the GRE.
Requirements
Students must complete a minimum of 40 units for the
Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies, including 16
credits of core classes and 24 credits of electives.
Credits from the TEFL Certificate awarded after ELIC's
August training are transferable for credit into this
degree program
