TESOL
  Overview
Azusa Pacific University's (APU) Master of Arts in TESOL prepares students to become exemplary classroom teachers committed to continued professional development within a variety of adult contexts. Graduates of the program currently serve in the United States and several foreign countries in public and adult schools, colleges, universities, private institutions, and businesses. Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, APU is a comprehensive, Christian university dedicated to developing scholars equipped to transform the world.

This program can be completed through three intensive summer sessions on APU’s campus, two intensive mid-winter break sessions in Thailand, and six units of distance learning classes to be completed while teaching in the country of assignment. Additional reading and writing assignments constitute half of the program and will be completed abroad in an independent study format. Up to six credits can be transferred from other institutions.

Prerequisites
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale from an accredited institution in order to be accepted. Applicants are not required to have undergraduate majors in fields such as English, linguistics, or education.

Requirements
Students must complete 36 units for the Master of Arts in TESOL.
Credits from the TEFL Certificate awarded after ELIC's August training are transferable for credit into this degree program
