Why Donate Crypto to ELIC?

Your tax-deductible gift of crypto makes it possible to recruit, train, send, and support incredible teachers serving in amazing places. ELIC’s long-standing partnerships with universities and governments around the globe open doors for us to make a deep and significant impact on students, colleagues, and neighbors. Our comprehensive training prepares new teachers to be world-class educators and helps veteran teachers as they transition overseas. Ongoing professional development opportunities include yearly conferences, graduate certificate programs, master’s degrees, and Ph.D. options. With your partnership, we will reach future leaders through education!

Why Donate Crypto Directly? Taxes!

The IRS classifies cryptocurrency as property for tax purposes, so your gift of cryptocurrency to ELIC receives the same tax treatment as stocks. When donating crypto, you receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto—and you avoid the capital gains tax you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a cash donation. If you provide an email address, you will automatically receive a tax receipt after donating. Contact your tax or financial advisor for more information.
