ELIC teachers are required to raise their own financial
support to serve overseas. As a part of your support-raising
package, you will receive a number of benefits. ELIC's
all-inclusive financial profile ensures that all of your
needs are met. Actual costs for the services listed below
are higher than the amount ELIC teachers are required
to raise. ELIC is able to offset those costs through significant
donations from friends and foundations. Contact us to

Monthly Personal Allowance
You will be provided with a small monthly stipend from
your host institution, which is designed to cover food
and sundries. In addition, your profile may provide you
with a monthly personal allowance in U.S. currency. Contact
us for more information about specific amounts.

Housing and Utilities
Each of our teachers is provided with furnished housing
that meets our standards. Prior to your arrival, our field
staff personally visit your housing to ensure that it
will be adequate.

Transportation
Complete transportation is provided from your home city
in North America to your host institution in Mongolia,
and back to your home city. In addition, a semester break
travel allowance is provided.

Medical Care
While your host institution in Mongolia provides basic
medical care, ELIC provides additional medical insurance
that includes emergency medical evacuation
and care outside of Mongolia, if required. ELIC also provides
a life insurance policy and Foreign Workers Compensation.

In-Country Support
Our support continues after your departure to Mongolia.
Each of our teachers is visited every semester by experienced
staff who are committed to serving our teachers and their
families. In addition, we have a number of North American
staff in Asia serving our teachers out of our Beijing
and Hong Kong offices.

North American Support Services
Once you are in Mongolia, you will appreciate the ongoing
support from our U.S. office. From receipting, tracking,
and acknowledging donations to formatting and mailing
newsletters, our office is ready to serve your needs.
Prior to arrival at training, experienced staff will assist
you in developing a committed team of supporters, and
equip you with photo cards and other support team building
resources.

Complete Training
One of the hallmarks of our organization is the quality
of training provided to all program participants. In addition
to a complete training manual, seminars on key aspects
of culture, curriculum, and team dynamics are some of
the important training components designed to ensure a
rewarding and positive experience in Mongolia.

Mid-Year Conference in Thailand
Each year, we gather all of our teachers together for an
enriching week of rest and recreation during the mid-winter
break. All conference expenses are covered, including
a transportation allowance from your home in Mongolia.

Placement on a Team
Each of our teachers lives and works in the context of
community. As an ELIC teacher, you will be placed on a
team in Mongolia. Your team can be a valuable source of
friendship, teaching ideas, and general support overseas.
ELIC will not place an individual in isolation from other
teachers.

Curriculum Resources
Curriculum professionals provide our teachers with resources
specifically designed for our teaching programs. In addition,
each teaching site is equipped with a resource library
for our teachers. You will also receive a quality professional
journal, which is produced quarterly in country by ELIC.

will be able to deliver excellence and have a positive
professional experience.

Because the application and initial care costs apply only
to the first year, the cost of additional years of service
will be slightly lower.

In-Person Debriefing
ELIC provides an in-person debriefing at the end of
each teacher's time of service with ELIC. The
debriefing is designed to help teachers adjust back to
their home culture and make the transition back to life in
North America.
